Yan is an Articling Student-at-Law at Skyline Legal Group LLP. She brings a wealth of diverse international and domestic experience to the firm, combining a sophisticated background in corporate legal frameworks and financial compliance.
Prior to commencing her articles in Alberta, Yan built a robust career in the financial and legal sectors in China. She held a management position in the Real Estate Investment Department for a prominent international trust company in Beijing, where she specialized in conducting comprehensive legal reviews, structuring commercial investment agreements, and managing regulatory compliance. In her early legal career, she worked in legal affairs at the Bank of China, focusing on reviewing financing agreements.
Following her move to Canada, Yan gained valuable local experience working within the engineering and design operations for Rogers/Shaw Telecommunications in Calgary. This role further sharpened the analytical precision and detail-oriented approach she brings to her legal practice.
Yan holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and earned her Master of Laws (LLM) in International Private Law from Wuhan University. She completed her Canadian legal qualification through the Foreign Trained Lawyers Program (FTLP) at the University of Calgary and successfully earned her Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA).
At Skyline Legal Group LLP, Yan provides crucial support across a variety of practice areas, with a strong focus on real estate conveyancing, corporate law, and estate planning. Outside of the office, Yan is an avid golfer and enjoys hiking.
